I AM The Master Of The Universe - Finally

Yes, I got my Master Knitter Level 1 re-submits back today, and I passed. If I had to re-do anything again I was going to have to shoot my knitterself in the head. I was going to pack up my needles and never look back. But I passed, so you're in luck.

Both of my letters started with "it's easy to see that you are a good knitter with a sound understanding of the subject matter." I bet you say that to all the girls.

Other people talk about all of the helpful and considerate and thoughtful advice they got. I didn't find that to be true. Mine seemed to be very much a form letter. I'd like to think that perhaps it's because there wasn't much to say; my work was so nearly perfect, they found nothing worth mentioning. (See how quickly I get cocky again?) Oh well, who cares? I passed! I thought I'd get a certificate or a card or maybe a badge I could flash at people when I'm investigating their knitting for mistakes, but none of the above. You'll just have to take my word for it. When my name is in Cast On, I'll have to make a copy of it to carry in my wallet. Level II will have to wait a bit - I have too many projects and I don't have $55 to send to TKGA. Maybe after the craft show next tuesday.

Today my friends Jenn and Colleen and I went to the Missouri Botanical Garden for the Best Of Missouri Market. It was crazy! There were so many people, you couldn't get through to see all of the booths. If I had a booth there, I would have sold EVERYTHING in about an hour. But we had a good time. It was a little chilly to start out, but we had lunch in the sun (we had barbecue and shared a bottle of wine - yum!) and warmed up in more ways than one. I talk a lot when only slightly inebriated, so we spent an hour listening to my voice. Then we went back through the market tents (it had calmed down a bit), didn't even pretend we weren't going to partake in the cheesecake-on-a-stick, and then walked through a little of the garden. We went through the greenhouse areas, and this is a picture of Colleen and Jenn on a little balcony overlooking the most beautiful cute little fountain I've ever seen:

I learned something about the Cabaret Raglan today - it doesn't provide very good suncover. Would you believe that I burned not only through the lacy bodice, but also through the shoulders and some of the back? Boy am I am burnt. I am now wearing a lightweight tank top and a sheer layer of aloe vera/lidocaine stuff. Ouch.

And here is one ball worth of the front to the Keyhole Pullover:

Progress!

Today's foray into booth-format shopping reminded me of how much work I have to do to get ready for my own foray into booth-format selling. I went to OfficeMax and OfficeDepot to get a sales book and some sign holders. But now I have to design the signs, and make some MORE JEWELRY.

Congratulations Beth! *kneels on floor waving hands in the air* I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!

Hey, I think I might come back into town next weekend for the guild meeting and some other stuff.

Way to go, Beth : )!!! That's awesome. I received my postcard indicated that the committee is looking at my binder as we speak. I hope I don't need to do many resubmits. But, we'll see. Again, congratulations and good luck with level II.

Way to go...I well understand the roller coaster of emotions tied to this self inflicted process ;)
I may not live long enough to finish level 2 but I hope to get "around to it" very soon if I can avoid distractions....like spinning.
Congrat's and kudo's.
