I'm very jealous about the home warranty because we didn't have one and our main stack broke under the basement foundation 6 weeks after we moved in. Fun times doing dishes with no drains. Luckily it only effected the kitchen and laundry, so we could still take showers. Homeowner's insurance covered it, though.

Best of luck with the rest of the processes, but it's all smooth sailing now. When was it built?

Our furnace is 50-60 years old and runs like a champ. Luckily, it was properly maintained by previous owners and we have no plans on replacing it. Our inspector was amazed at how efficient it was when he tested it.

Post lots of photos when you can.Karenhttp://www.am4sq.com/Karennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7779059.post-53003321465816764972009-04-27T21:13:00.000-04:002009-04-27T21:13:00.000-04:00Hurrah!!! How is the grade of the soil - is it indented towards the foundation?

And if the furnace is 30 - you might look into replacing it. With a high efficiency one you should halve or quarter your winter utility bill.AnnFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17122917612594909731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7779059.post-57929479520378457432009-04-27T17:32:00.000-04:002009-04-27T17:32:00.000-04:00Indeed, "what a relief."
