Updates

First of all, we've got the prize situation under control. Heather has been contacted, she wants her own Grape Berry Splash yarn, and Wendy, the second place winner, wants the already-dyed yarn, so everybody's happy! Yippee!

Also, due to the yarn-gift-of-overwhelmingness, all knitting has ceased chez YarnEnvy and the hunt is on. I have determined that I have 750 yards, but I haven't figured out the gauge yet, probably around 4 stitches = 1". I'm confident it will be just the right amount for a V-neck pullover Aran vest, which I will design myself, because 1) I can't find a pattern I like, and 2) Yarn like this deserves special treatment, no? But that's all I'm going to be able to say about it really, because if I take all the time to design an aran sweater, I'm damn well going to submit it for publication somewhere, so I better keep my trap shut.

I'm going to go watch "The Matchmaker", one of my favorite movies, 95% of which just happens to take place in Ireland, for inspiration.

That'll look great as an aran vest. Good choice :)

I love The Matchmaker!!! I can't wait to watch progress on the sweater.

By the way, I think you need a button for the "I am a KAL loser" I'd put it on my blog.

your dear, dear friend who couldn't make it past the swatching stage of the Madli-along while it was going on...

Oh, and I'd be so up to the KAL Loser button. Remember Salt Peanuts? I barely do

Isn't an Aran vest one of the tasks for the next step towards Master Knitter? Are you continuing with that?

I love Irish movies. I just watched a good one last night called "Waking Ned Divine". Very funny and cute.
