The Panta, She Is Done

I did finish this before heading off to the wedding (which was a smashing success, if a little snowy and slippery), and it did a great job of keeping my head and ears warm.

This yarn is just fantastically beautiful. I can't get over it. It's soft, it's warm, and the colors are wonderful. I loved working with it. Too bad it's sortof expensive.

Here is the pattern I used. I subtracted two inches from my head measurement, and I knitted the widest section for only 3 1/2", and I did the decreases in the middle of each section instead of at the edge. I thought I was going to run out of yarn, but I didn't. I was able to make it tight enough to stay on and not flare, but loose enough to not mat down the hair too much. The pictures show it with either side out. I grafted the ends together so it's nearly invisible, and can be worn either way.

More details here, on my FO page.

Looks great. And I finally found something to knit as gift got - ME!

I agree with Sandra, something I'm definitely going to knit for myself after I'm done with all the holiday knitting. It looks awesome with your hair and mine is a similar cut! Thanks for putting the idea and the pattern out there for us to use!

I like it! A lot better than the Clapotis hat that I'm working on (which I've torn out twice so far because it's too big). I just wish my hair was even a little bit curly, instead of stick straight.

(Hi from another Beth in St. Louis. I was wandering other knitblog blogrolls today and found yours.)
