Knitting Continues Apace

The Olympics may be over, but the knitting continues. This is the back of Butterfly, the last piece.

And I finished a pair of socks! These are made from wool/hemp Dzined yarn I got at Stitches Midwest as an audition for a sweater. I have misplaced the label, but it's somewhere around here somehwere; I've seen it recently. (When I find it, all pertinent details will be added to the Finished Objects Gallery.)The pattern is basic, toe-up, 2x2 rib, with 1x1 rib at the top of the cuff.
As I knitted them, I didn't like people to touch them because they seemed rough, as hemp is wont to do. So, to any of you who questioned my sanity, I'd like to say: Ha HAH! As I suspected, a good trip through the washing machine helped immensely, and I have reason to believe they will only continue to improve. They are soft and comfortable now. And warm.

And this is Butterfly today:
I've started on the collar, which is quite large, and will take a bit of time, at least more than a regular collar. I then have only to block the collar, then sew in the sleeves and up the sides, and it'll be done. I'm so excited. I get a new sweater, and I don't have to use that crappy Silk Garden anymore. I don't know where they get their wool, but I feel sorry for the sheep, living in all those brambles.

And what's the best best BEST part of finishing something? Getting to start something new! I think I'm going to use some Tess' Sock Yarn for a pattern from Knitting Vintage Socks, and well, I should finish another sweater I have on the needles, but I might just make something easy peasy like Kangaroo from The Knit Stitch (which I have hand-dyed yarn all ready for.) Or, I could quickly knock out that mini poncho from Malabrigo I have planned. Or, I could knit up that Cotton Ease, in time for spring. Choices, choices. Whatever am I going to do?

Or you could just cast on for them all and see which one you most feel like knitting... I'm not helping, am I? ;)

That Butterfly is looking great - can't wait to see it worn.

Looking lovely! I agree with Silk Garden! But I want to do an Entrelac sweater and the Noro colorations are perfect for it. What else can I sub???

The sweater looks awesome!! I still, unfortunately, haven't found my yarn yet. I'm about 2 pattern repeats from finishing my sock, so I'd better step up the unpacking.

I miss you.
