A Big Week

I'm back from my first trip to Seattle, and a lot got done (not all by me).

First, this little girl was born:
Her brother was born, too, but I don't have a digital picture of him to share because he is in the NICU and I didn't get to spend much time with him. (I have a picture on my phone of a polaroid of him, but I'll wait until I have something better.) He's doing better every day and I'm sure I'll have a lot of pictures when he comes home and I go back to visit again.

I also got a lot of knitting done. After my sister was released from the hospital I spent a lot of time sitting on the couch because she and her husband didn't need a lot of help, and if they did, Grandma was first in line. Bringing Home Baby is a stressful occasion but they're getting into the swing of things and doing a great job.

This is the back and beginning of the front for a sweater I bought on my last visit to St. Louis.


And this is all the stuff I bought at the airport on my way home:
Smoked salmon (of course), a "Seattle Rain" candle, Peanut Roca (since I'm allergic to the other varieties), Caramel de Leche hot chocolate mix, and a beautiful bowl made by a local artisan.

I didn't get to see much of Seattle (why look at anything but a beautiful baby like that?) but I did see Mt. Ranier, and I enjoyed my visit. I'm sure I'll make it a habit to come and take the niece and nephew out for an age-appropriate day on the town.
