Actually, the "traffic socks" became the "Serenity Now!" socks when I brought Sadie home on Friday, a week ahead of schedule. She's 11 weeks old, and about 3lbs. 12oz. She's paper trained, but only when she wants to, or doesn't have better things to do. I have learned how to not be a Better Thing To Do.
I had always wondered why PetSmart would have people candy; it's very expensive, why bother? Now I know. It's for crazy people like me who don't do a very good job of grocery shopping, and who have escaped the house for a short short while in the midst of crate training only to purchase a more appropriately-sized collar, so that puppy can be tethered and leashed and more easily kept track of on the rare occasion that she has both peed and pooped on the paper and is allowed to leave her pen. I bought a collar and a Butterfinger, and that sustained me through the night.
Right now I'm watching her sleep and waiting for her to wake up and "use her papers" so that I can take her over to the apartment complex office and give them her deposit and contract, etc. I thought it would be a good new experience for the day, but at this rate, we're not going to make it.
So here are some pictures and movies for your enjoyment:
