It's Too Late Now

Well, I went and did it. Friday was "shopping day" and I went to antique malls, Crate and Barrel, The Container Store, Restoration Hardware, West Elm, Macy's, and Pottery Barn (and probably some others I've forgotten). After returning home and discovering that one of the rugs I had my heart set on at PB was not available through the internet, I went back to the store on Saturday to see if they had it. And they did. They also had the rug I wanted for the living room, so I added another for the dining room, and one for the kitchen, threw on some rug pads for good measure and gave my new Pottery Barn card a workout that I don't have to pay for for 12-months-no-interest. Whew. I'm glad that's done.

Here's the dining room. It's a square room, and they don't make a lot of square rugs, and it was very important to me to see the rug in person before buying it, so this 5'x8' will have to do. It'll look less awkward when there's furniture on either side of it (and a table and chairs on top of it).

This is the entry, a joint effort between Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel. The flash was used, pretend it's about three ticks muted from here.

Here's the new kitchen mat:

And the finished bedroom:
Please pretend the curtains are ironed. I have another set of panels I could use but I think it looks ok with one on each of the smaller windows. Suggestions welcome. They are just plain white curtains from IKEA. I kind of like how they're just an inch or two too long and bunch a little on the floor.

Reverse progress on the second bedroom:
What a mess!

And look! I think my mums will be pink, and soon. How lovely.

OK, I miss the dots in the bedroom . . . not. :-) It looks so restful now. I think you're OK with 1 panel on each small window. Have you considered swagging them? Maybe swag each of them *away* from the fp bump-out. That would be graceful and would "frame" the bed should you decide to put it against the bump-out wall.

The rug I love isn't on the blog yet. :-)
