Live From Saint Charles....It's STITCHES MIDWEST!!!!!

This is a lovely picture of my hotel room in Aurora Illinois. Gwen is the one facing away, and Suzie is the one looking up. I'm the one behind the camera.

Our trip was very eventful, and not in a good way. Actually, it got started pretty well, the rain was only in St. Louis, and by the time we were half-way there the skies were blue, and we were sailing. But then we got off the interstate and we drove and we drove and we drove and we drove, and we drove right past our hotel, and we drove back, and couldn't figure out how to get to it, and ended up getting on a toll highway, and then turned around (yes, paying to get back on in the other direction). THEN, we get told they don't have our reservation! Well, this is a very small nutshell that I have crammed this story into; it was a very long day. I can't count how many times we've turned around.

But Mary Ann and Teri, who are here for the whole convention and have been here since yesterday, are having a great time, and their enthusiasm has worn off on us. We can barely stand it. They showed us their purchases (to date) and we were highly impressed. We went out to dinner, shoved our faces full of food, and now we're back to rest up for a big day of shopping. Our waiter had nothing to say to us when we told him why we were in town. But then he told us that his other job is in a mortuary. :-0 Well, then. When he said we didn't want to hear about his other job, I thought he was a stripper. Boy, was I wrong.

Tomorrow I'm sure I'll have much more to document. For now, the party hasn't really started. We wallow in anticipation.
