A FO! My Favorite!

The EZ blanket is finished.

I just washed it by hand, but I think it softened up quite a bit. I think the edging came out great. It really makes the blanket look nice. It was still wet this morning when I left to go to work so I didn't bring it to take to the Guild meeting, but that's ok; I can take it to Wednesday night knitting and everyone can get a good look at it. I'll turn it in in January. (We don't have a regular meeting in December, we have a Founder's Day luncheon.)

I'm going to write up how I made it and post it along with the picture under my Finished Objects blog. I'm also going to have to wait for daylight to get a good picture.

In other news, I'm up to the keyhole in the front of the keyhole sweater:
It's going really fast, since the yarn is pretty bulky and I'm using 10 1/2s.

Gwen came to the store today and hung out until it was time to go get some lunch and go to the meeting. We went to Penn Station; it was Gwen's first time. She's been missing out. It's really a good place to eat. The program today was watching part of the Philosopher's Wool video on two-handed fair isle. It was really interesting. I disagree that sweaters should have ten inches of ease (!) but the methods were good to know, and good to see in person. I've heard of doing everything they showed, but didn't really get it. Now I do. I just have to remember it tomorrow, and until the next time I try to do fair isle.

I was mistaken for another person today. It was not a flattering mistake. I'm going to have to pay more attention to how I dress for guild meetings from now on. But then, maybe I don't want them to know who I am. I better think about this before I start making too many "fashion statements" and "standing out from the crowd" and everything. I damn well better lose some weight, though. I don't mind widening that gap.

The blanket looks great. I've never heard of Penn Station. Is it new (i.e. since July 2002)?

Who were you mistaken for? Me?

Oh and the blanket turned out great. Not bad for your first I-cord trim. ;-)
