She's Got a Ticket to Ride

I have an all-knitty-all-the-time post for you today. Unfortuately, that makes it somewhat short.

This is the yarn I dyed to make Sally Melville's Kangaroo, a basic hooded sweatshirt.

You might notice the two different "dye lots"; the four on the right were done at one time and the four on the left were done at one time. I didn't take as much time squishing the kool-aid around on the second batch, and got bigger light spots. I'm not sure I care. There's nothing else interesting going on with this sweater, so I might just let the yarn do its thing. Maybe after it's done I can over-dye it. It doesn't matter at this point; the weather is warming up and I'm not going to be making this sweater for a while.

And here are my tickets off of Sleeve Island!
All I have to do is do the seaming and a little finishing around the neck; there's no collar on this one. Yippee!

I started swatching for the Cardi Raye. I can't wait to get started. It takes some pretty small needles, though. I don't think I have any 1.5s in anything other than sock needles, which are too short. Hmmm. An excuse to buy more needles? Ok. I'll take it.

The yarn looks amazing. I can't relly notice a difference, but photos can be like that. Just think of it as a design feature :)
