My New Puppy???

As I mentioned in this post, and the last post, I am in the market for a puppy. This past week I was able to locate a breeder who just happened to have an available puppy who is just the right age. She's not quite ready to come home with me yet (just eight weeks old), but when she does I'll have enough time to squeeze in some puppy kindergarten before I have to do May Festival (which is two weeks of rehearsal every day, including weekends, and concerts on the weekends, too.)

This has come as quite a surprise to me as I really thought I would need to be on a waiting list and would know ahead of time when the puppies would be born and ready to come home. I guess I'm just lucky.

I'm headed to visit tomorrow, but here are some pictures I got from the breeder. Her current name is "Smudgins" but I'm looking for suggestions. She's mostly black, but has some tan on her feet, and maybe it looks like on her muzzle, too.

Oh yeah, she's a miniature wirehaired dachshund.
