I got a call today.
They didn't want me.
I'm a really nice person, and they enjoyed spending time with me, but something about lack of experience, no expertise. Maybe we can be friends. Didn't even have a better candidate. But that's ok. I didn't want to go anyway. Why go to Cincinnati when you can live in St. Louis? St. Louis is much cooler, and I already know my way around. Sort of. St. Louis has a better ball team.
This just means that I actually have to memorize the part I'm understudying in Opera Workshop this summer. Oops.
But the worst part? I didn't get any yarn, and now I'm not going back. That really hurts.
Anyone want a brand-new Cincinnati street map? Never even been opened.
But seriously, what really pisses me off is my current employer. They've totally taken advantage of me. When I was hired, I didn't know it was for a lower-than-entry-level position; it was years before I was allowed access to my own job description, and now even though I've been there three years, it doesn't mean I've got three years of experience doing anything anyone expects of a person with Three Years Experience. I might as well be the custodian. So now I'm stuck because I've been here so long doing nothing. It makes me look stupid and inept.
I'll feel better tomorrow. Truthfully, I'm getting paid pretty well to do nothing which isn't a bad gig at times.

Remember, the St. Louis woman wears a diamond ring, and the Cincinnati woman has to eat chili with chocolate in it. Seriously. I've forgotten the chainthat serves this, bt it's a big thing in Cinti. Ew.
StL - so much better.
Yea!! You're not leaving St. Louis! I mean, bummer you didn't get the job. They don't know what they're missing!

Sorry about the job but I can't really see you in Ohio anyway.
Peace
You have my full empathy...I didn't get the cool job this week either...not even a "go to hell" phone call. I also feel the same as you about my current job. Next week will be better; promise??
I wasn't going to say anything when there was a chance that you might be going, but now that you're not - Congrats! I worked for a national restaurant chain 10 years ago where it was considered a demotion to be sent there. Everyone who went hated it. So be glad! And as far as yarn goes - there's nothing there that you can't find anywhere else. It's not exactly Peru, 'ya know?
Sorry you didn't get the job, but after all, Ohio is a state we can all do without (at least we in Michigan think so!)
