Well, that sucked. Teri had asked in the comments a while back if I enjoyed the spinning. I did. It was interesting, and different, and I liked it. It certainly held my attention for long spans of time. I was even thinking that someday I might get a real spindle and some nice fiber and do it for real.
Then tonight I plyed my three singles into one big piece of yarn.
Uggh. That was not fun. And it took forever. If I ever do take up spinning I will use a wheel. I will invest in things such as niddy-noddys and the like. But that won't be any time soon. I just don't have the desire to take the time to get the skill to make that worth while.
So here it is, on my swift:
And after a quick dunk:
It turned out that my pink single, while it weighed less, was the longest. So it's a good thing I abandoned the white/pink&white/white concept. I decided to go instead with a pink&white/white approach, and it worked pretty well. I did join the singles as I went, just twisting them together. I never did find any information that that was the right way to do it, but I did it. I'm pretty sure I don't care.
So the plan is to make a hat, top down, so the white (and most "novel" of the skein being the first I spun) will be the cuff. I think it'll be cute.
So I'm glad I tried it. But I'm glad it's over.
